Lake District & North East England Photography

Jo Hennessey: Otley, Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK

These picures were taken by Jo Hennessey of the area in and around Otley, Leeds. As well as stunning landscapes, they also contain excellent photographic skill. I particularly get excited over the contrast of calm and dramatic water shots, done whilst taking a picture of an old building, which I also get excited over. I hope you enjoy the views as I did!

Rowan Gillespie's Irish Great Famine Sculptures by Andy Ratcliff

Pictures by Andy Ratcliff. Info by Annie.

These pics were taken by a friend of mine Andy Ratcliff, they were sculptured in 1997 by Rowan Gillespie and made as a Memorial to the ONE MILLION people who lost their lives in the Great Famine of 1845-1849. Some others managed to emigrate, either to England, USA or Canada.
Rowan Gillespie has made more sculptures on the immigrants which are being erected in a park in Toronto this year.
