The Metro Radio Arena hosted Rammstein's Newcastle's 2005 gig. This is the largest of Newcastle's music venues, so for a good view, you've got to get close to the front. I hadn't been to a Rammstein gig before this one, so wasn't quite sure what to expect. I'd seen their videos on satellite TV & love their music, so was hoping I wasn't going to be disappointed; I certainly wasn't. The crowd were left standing for 2 hours after it was announced that the support band were not there! That left us twiddling our thumbs & (bummer) drinking beer at the 2 large bars is the foyer. Soon after 9pm, Rammstein made sure we knew they were on the stage. The arena rocked like never before & the pyrotechnics were visually spectacular as well as deafening! It was an amazing night.
