As one of the Lake District's most popular viewpoints, providing views across Derwent Water, Bassenthwaite Lake, Skiddaw and Thornthwaite Forrest, Ashness Bridge has itself became one of the most photographed objects in the area. Unfortunately, it's popularity makes it difficult to get a people-free shot, even in low season. However, whatever the season, patience usually pays!
The first picture is my favourite. The first five were taken in February 2007; I wanted to show the sunnier pictures first..





The following pictures were taken in December 2006, after heavy rain and floods, evident from the rather swollen brook.




More colourfully, these were taken in October 2007.
