Sparrowhawk (Accipiter Nicus)

I photographed this sparrowhawk (Accipiter nicus) sitting on our garden fence. The garden was full of feeding birds seconds before it's appearance & this is what I found when investigating the sudden rush of birds. They'd literally flown for their lives. The main prey of the sparrowhawk are doves & pigeons, both of which feed in large numbers in our garden. This is a male sparrowhawk, the female being much larger.
